Professor Francesca Happé is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and the Director at the Institue of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London.

Professor Happé is an expert in neurodevelopment and autism. She focuses on underrepresented groups, including girls and women. She has received numerous awards, including the Rosalind Franklin Award from the Royal Society and the Spearman Medal from the British Psychological Society.

Professor Happé is co-author of Autism: A New Introduction to Psychological Theory and Current Debate and has edited and written forewords for books on autism by her fellow experts. She is featured on an episode of a Channel 4 documentary and her research is regularly highlighted in media such as BBC television and ABC radio.

Professor Happé is a Fellow of the British Academy and the Academy of Medical Sciences, past-President of the International Society for Autism Research and Co-Founder of the National Forum for Neuroscience and Special Education.
