Dr Chris McCurry is well known as a leading child psychologist. Since 2001 he has worked in private practice in Seattle through the clinic Associates in Behavior and Child Development (ABCD), PLLC. His main area of expertise is the treatment of anxiety in children with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He is also an authority on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other social difficulties children may face, including autism.

Dr McCurry is the author of the acclaimed and popular book, Working with Parents of Anxious Children: Therapeutic Strategies for Encouraging Communication, Coping & Change. He frequently delivers workshops and lectures across the United States, and he has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles.

He was previously an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington. He has also worked in the Department of Child Psychiatry at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.
