Dr David J. A. Dozois is a Professor of Psychology in the Faculty of Social Science and a Professor of Psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. He is also Director of the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program and heads the Mood Research Lab.

A former Beck Institute Scholar at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research, Dr Dozois specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and predictors of depression. He runs a small private practice and has published more than 200 scientific articles, chapters and books, including his latest title, Handbook of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies, Fourth Edition.

Dr Dozois was President of the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (2020-2021) and twice President of the Canadian Psychological Association (2011–12; 2016–17). He sits on the Board of Directors for Mental Health Research Canada and the International Association of Applied Psychology. In addition, he has given hundreds of presentations at national and international conferences and is a Fellow of several associations, including the Canadian Psychological Association.
