Dr Rhonda M. Merwin is an Associate Professor at Duke University Medical Center. She is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat eating disorders and a Peer-reviewed ACT trainer.

In 2011 Dr Merwin founded ACT at Duke, a research, clinical and training program in ACT. She is the lead author of the ground-breaking title, ACT for Anorexia Nervosa: A Guide for Clinicians.

Dr Merwin shares clinical guidance in treating eating disorders at international conferences and training events. She is a regular guest on podcasts and interviewed in media such as Forbes and The Washington Post.

Dr Merwin has been a principal investigator on projects funded by the National Institute of Health, with her research widely published in peer-reviewed journals. She has conducted some of the most in-depth studies on eating disorders in type 1 diabetes, and utilizes innovative mobile technology to deliver remote assessment and intervention.
