Dr Todd K. Shackelford is a world-leading expert in evolutionary psychology, exploring behavioral adaptations in humans. He is a Distinguished Professor, Chair of Psychology, Co-Director of the Evolutionary Psychology Lab and Founding Director of the Center for Evolutionary Psychological Science at Oakland University.

Much of Dr Shackelford’s research focuses on the psychology of close relationships, specifically romantic relationships, examining jealousy, violence, infidelity and relationship satisfaction. It also explores how evolutionary psychology relates to the health sciences, law, business and medicine.

Dr Shackelford is Editor of the journal Evolutionary Psychology and Editor-in-Chief of Evolutionary Psychological Science, which he founded in 2014. He has authored around 300 articles in academic journals and edited dozens of volumes. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association.
