Professor Per Carlbring is a pioneering figure in research into how technology can play an increasingly important role in treating the symptoms of anxiety, depression, gambling and other disorders. He is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Stockholm University and an Adjunct Professor in e-Health at the University of Southern Denmark.

Among Professor Carlbring’s key areas of interest is the use of Virtual Reality (VR) as a therapeutic tool for a number of conditions. He has also made great strides in researching the efficacy of internet Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (iCBT) for depression and real-time behavioral tracking systems for preventing problematic or pathological gambling.

Professor Carlbring has published nearly 300 papers, with recent research appearing in PLoS ONE and World Psychiatry. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
