Dr Robert D. Friedberg has a worldwide reputation as a clinical psychologist, author and researcher. His chief area of expertise is the use of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for children, young people and families. He has a particular interest in the use of stories and metaphors in a therapeutic context and the general treatment of psychological conditions in young people.
Dr Friedberg holds a number of senior positions at Palo Alto University including Head of the Child and Family Emphasis Area, Core Full Professor and Director and Research Group Advisor at the Center for the Study and Treatment of Anxious Youth. He is also Director and Research Group Advisor at the Center for the Study and Treatment of Anxious Youth, at the Beck Institute.
Dr Friedberg is the author of several books, including Clinical Practice of Cognitive Therapy with Children and Adolescents and CBT Express: Effective 15-Minute Techniques for Treating Children and Adolescents.
Dr Friedberg is a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association (Clinical Child Psychology, Division 53) and the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. In 2017, he received the Spotlight on Mentorship Award from the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy.
