Dr Johnny Kim is a highly regarded academic, researcher and author, working at the intersection of clinical psychology and social work. Much of his research is devoted to clinical interventions that lead to positive mental health outcomes in schools and community settings. He is a Professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver.

Dr Kim’s fields of expertise and teaching areas include Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), social work in schools and technology-based mental health interventions. He is the author of several books, including a seminal text for the use of SFBT in schools, and he has published more than 50 academic works.

Dr Kim was a Council on Social Work Education Minority Clinical Fellow. He is a member of the editorial board of several journals and is also Chair of the Research Committee for the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Association. In addition, he presents at conferences and workshops across the United States and beyond and has received several awards for his work. He is partnering with Ellipsis Health to evaluate a technology-based adolescent depression and anxiety screening and monitoring tool using voice and artificial intelligence.
