Dr Simona Ghetti is a Professor of Psychology at the University of California (UC) Davis, Center for Mind and Brain. She is a world-renowned expert in typical and atypical memory development and metamemory, in childhood.

Dr Ghetti is the Director and Principal Investigator at the Memory and Development Lab, UC Davis, where her research utilizes behavioral and neuroimaging techniques to study childhood learning and memory. Her highly cited work has been published in journals such as Child Development and Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience.

The recipient of numerous awards, Dr Ghetti was one of the 16 international recipients of a Science of Prospection Scholar Award in 2014. In 2010, she was awarded the James F. McDonnell Foundation Scholar Award and the Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology.

Dr Ghetti has co-edited two influential books, Origins and development of recollection: Perspectives from psychology and neuroscience and Victim-offender mediation with youth offenders in Europe. She is an associate editor of Memory, and part of the editorial boards of several journals including Frontiers in Human Neuroscience and Journal of Cognition and Development.
