Laura Richards is a Criminal Behavioral Analyst and expert on stalking, domestic violence, sexual violence, risk assessment and homicide.

Richards applies her psychology degrees and advanced training to all facets of these crimes from prevention and offender assessment to victim support and law reform.

Richards led the campaign to make stalking a criminal offense and to criminalize coercive control in the UK. She is now focussed on similar processes for criminalizing coercive control in the US.

Richards founded Paladin, the world’s first National Stalking Advocacy Service, aiming to advise and support high-risk victims and amplify the voice of victims within the justice system.

Previously the head of the Violent Crime and Intelligence Analysis Unit, Richards continues to provide high-level advice to several key agencies in the UK, including the Home Office and the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC).

She developed the Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Honour Based Violence (DASH), now implemented as a proactive risk-based approach across all UK policing.

Richards co-created the Real Crime Profile podcast and was executive producer of CBS shows about high profile cases, including that of JonBenét Ramsey.

An experienced keynote speaker, she has also been involved in the training of thousands of police and other professionals.
