Dr Susan Clayton is a professor of psychology and environmental studies at The College of Wooster. She is widely recognized for developing an Environmental Identity Scale to determine people’s relationship with nature. Dr Clayton has a special interest in the psychology of climate change and developed the Climate Change Anxiety Scale. Her research forms part of the Conservation Psychology field aimed at promoting human behaviors that protect the natural environment. Dr Clayton has published over 150 articles and chapters and several books.
