Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a scientifically tested form of psychotherapy that has been shown in more than 1,000 randomized trials to be effective for many different psychiatric disorders, psychological problems, and medical conditions with psychological components.
In contrast to many forms of psychotherapy, CBT is a solution-focused approach to treatment, oriented toward solving problems and learning skills. The goal of CBT is to help people get better and stay better, and its effectiveness has been demonstrated by researchers throughout the world.
We believe learning Cognitive Behavior Therapy should be an enjoyable, comprehensive, and supportive experience that fits easily into the life of busy professionals and students. Our online courses are designed to build competency and clinical effectiveness in CBT.
I wanted to share how excited and grateful I am to be participating in this course. I feel it is a noteworthy moment in history that this is finally able to reach many more individuals and in an easier manner. This is a wonderful contribution to the field as I myself have been desiring to take a live training but it was challenging with the travel arrangements. Therefore, I appreciate this contribution.
I am so happy to have enrolled in this course. I actually believe I am getting more out of it then if I attended a live course. The videos, roundtable discussions and being asked the questions that we ask our clients, very helpful! I am so amazed at how interactive this online course is. We practice skills, post questions and interact with others all over the world. I am even more amazed that Judith Beck actually answered some of my questions personally. This course is definitely worth taking.
I found the online portion of the videos and presentations to be excellent. Judith Beck's videos specifically were extremely helpful. Everything was clear and well explained in the examples. The clinical videos were great because I could see what I needed do to improve my practice and increase my effectiveness.
Living and practicing in Asia, I found this course such a cost-effective way of gaining access to the clinical wisdom and guidance of the esteemed teachers from the BECK Institute.
I really like this type of learning. Being able to stop the video and make notes is great and ensures that I am not missing anything. Receiving clinical tips and hearing how the therapists (round table) deal with certain client groups is very helpful. This course actually teaches how to go about integrating theory into practice. I feel much more confident in my sessions with clients since taking this course.
Very good course. Simple to understand, specially for those who do not have a background in psychotherapy of counselling. Gets to the point, not to much theory, I'm learning what I need. I learnt a lot of technique I can use. Forum is responsive and faculty actually responds to my questions which is great. Will definetely take more courses through Beck Institute.
I love the experiential exercises and how you address the common fears and automatic thoughts students may have. It actually really helped me to deepen my understanding of CBT. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of education, the interaction and feedback of instructors, the ease of access, and flexibility of the courses...I will definitely be continuing my CBT education with Beck Institute!
I found this course an all-engrossing learning experience. Not only the time spent felt pleasant, but the material learned, I feel and think, are taking me to a different level as a psychotherapist. I especially enjoyed the forum which provided a sense of connectedness and the feedbacks by the faculty to the posts were invaluable. I am looking forward to the other online courses by the Beck Institute.
Thank you for this course. The quality of the presentation and videos, the depth and quantity of information, and the resources in the library have all exceeded my expectations already.
Wow!! I did not think I would learn as much as I have in one week when I signed up for the course and I am really excited about what we have covered and what is to come. I already feel more confident in the CBT approach and enjoyed seeing the full session. I think CBT will be really effective in the work that I am doing with clients in grief and life transition support.
The roundtable is very helpful for learning new techniques and affirming that other therapists have similar struggles with treatment. The videos are entertaining. The library has beneficial information to apply CBT with my clients.
The overall experience has been very comprehensive with the teaching of the model, the round table discussions with CBT therapists, modeling of CBT sessions, answering specific questions on the forum so students can learn from each other but also receive feedback from the faculty, conceptualizing my own cognitions and responding accordingly, and having time to practice some of the techniques and strategies in sessions with my clients. This format is very effective for my learning. Being able to access this type of professional development online has been invaluable to me.
